Stephen's approach is non-judgemental and compassionate, supporting your journey to healing and mind-body-spirit well-being. Stephen has experience working with clients of all ages, cultural backgrounds and spiritual beliefs. Stephen is an integrative counsellor, a fully qualified Nurse, HCPC registered Music Therapist and NMT Neurologic Music Therapist, with an MSc in Clinical Psychology, and an MSc in Psychology of Pathological addictions, and further training, amongst others, in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based-Cognitive-Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Metacognitive Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT).

Adopting a client-focused perspective, Integrative counselling embodies a psychotherapeutic technique that values and respects each individual's uniqueness and specific needs during the therapeutic journey. This method revolves around the understanding that there's no universal strategy apt for every individual or situation. Instead, it mandates a holistic view of each individual within their present environment. This comprehensive perspective may incorporate various aspects of their life including psychological, physical, societal, cultural, and spiritual components.

Music Therapy

Fully qualified HCPC registered Music Therapist, Stephen acknowledges the individuality of each person in his music therapy sessions, tailoring his approach to suit their needs in a compassionate and non-judgmental setting. Utilising music as a universal language and non-verbal medium, he enables clients to express feelings that can't be put into words. This therapy, a clinical and evidence-based technique, aims to achieve non-musical goals and enhance physical and mental well-being. Stephen employs musical instruments and vocalisations to stimulate communication in clients, regardless of their abilities, providing emotional, sensory and intellectually stimulating experiences. This collaborative process involves the development and agreement of therapeutic goals and objectives between him and the client. His methods foster social skills, creativity, and personal growth, offering a therapeutic journey filled with enriching experiences.

Forest Therapy

Discover the profound tranquillity of nature through Stephen's unique approach to forest therapy. Drawing from his personal experiences and the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, Stephen guides you to find peace and healing within Bristol's vibrant landscapes. Forest therapy goes beyond a leisurely walk in the woods; it is an immersive engagement with the environment that invites you to listen, observe, and interact with nature. The experience offers numerous health benefits and an opportunity to synchronize with your natural rhythms, promoting a sense of harmony and well-being. This practice offers an invitation to reset, breathe, and find your own rhythm mirrored in the living landscape around you. The journey with Stephen opens a path to deep healing, emotional well-being, and a renewed connection with the world at your feet. Join Stephen in Bristol's lush green spaces, as you embark on a therapeutic journey that supports self-discovery and nurtures healing.

Sound Healing

Stephen's work is focused on using Tibetan Singing bowls within a modern practical methodology, without specific spiritual or religious references, for meditation and other practices that deal with inner knowledge and growth. The sounds and vibrations of Tibetan Singing Bowls and Crystal Singing Bowls are used to move energetic blockages and to support mind-body-spirit well-being. The Singing Bowls are used for emotional healing also in combination with deep breathing and mindfulness meditation.

Stephen has been working with my mother for about a year and throughout that time I've consistently been impressed by his gentle and respectful approach, and also by the amazing diversity of sensory experiences he provides. My mother is 90 with vascular dementia and she looks forward to Stephen's weekly visits, and so do my Dad and me because of the pleasure she gets from the interaction.

I highly recommend him.
